Mexico vs Paraguay Prediction & Match Preview
Mexico vs Paraguay
Date: Tuesday, 26 March 2019
Kick-Off at 21:00 UK / 22:00 CET
Venue: Levi’s Stadium (California).
Mexico were on a terrible run of results ever since the World Cup last 16 round exit against Brazil. El Tri have lost five of six friendlies since and they will be highly motivated to regain the much-needed confidence on Tuesday night when they take on South American outfit Paraguay in a friendly on the US soil.
The head coach Gerardo Martino will be able to count on most of Mexican’s main stars, including Javier Hernandez, Raul Jimenez, Hirving Lozano, Andres Guardado and Jonathan dos Santos. Plenty of Mexican fans are also expected to be present at Levi’s Stadium and it is really hard to expect anything other but their win here against Los Guaranies.
Mexico vs Paraguay: Head-to-head
The head to head record also speaks in Mexico’s favour.
El Tri won each of last five meetings with Paraguay.
Paraguayans scored just one goal in past three encounters with El Tri.
Mexico claimed a 2-1 victory when they last met Los Guaranies in July 2017.
Mexico vs Paraguay: Prediction
Much like Mexico, Paraguayans have been on a poor thread of results lately. They played just three friendlies after an unsuccessful campaign in the South American World Cup Qualifications. Los Guaranies fell 1-0 to United States and 4-2 to Japan before drawing 1-1 to South Africa in November last year.
Eduardo Berizzo will rely heavily on Antonio Sanabria who is the biggest star in this new generation of Paraguayan footballers. He has a decent season with Genoa in Serie A, but he is yet to perform for the national team having scored only one goal in 12 appearances for Los Guaranies so far.
Everything points out to Mexico’s win here and we’d warmly recommend you back El Tri to return to winning ways and boost up their confidence after recent failures which followed World Cup. Braver tipsters can back Mexico to have the lead at the half time and win the match at the end.
